Connor Ruisz is a very happy 8 year old Connor in the third grade. He is a kind, compassionate, determined little boy who loves to play baseball and football. The White Sox is his favorite baseball team and Jose Abreu and Chris Sale are his favorite players. The Carolina Panthers is his favorite football team and Greg Olsen is his favorite football player. Connor was diagnosed with high-risk Medulloblastoma at the age of three and underwent surgery. He received high dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplant and radiation to the brain, which were a part of his treatment. Although he is now cancer free, he is dealing with the long term effects from the surgery and treatment. Connor is in need of therapy for cognitive delays, hearing loss, speech, language and other developmental delays. The therapy he receives is very beneficial, but it is not covered by insurance.
